lunch with all of our movers from our house in Texas." I also remember her asking these guys in a very serious tone, "SO, what is your favorite color?"
And in my journal just over two years ago.....
"We closed on our second home purchase today. Mom watched Lena (3yrs. old) - Mom said she was demanding food all day that once she was given it she would find some obscure reason for not eating it. For example, Lena claimed because she could see a trace of butter on her toast it was inedible.
Grandma told her "No, Lena, you have to eat your toast."
My feisty 3 yr old replied, "Gramma, if you say 'no' to me again, you won't love me anymore and you'll be a scorpion!" (she knew a lot about scorpions because we had just moved from Southwest Texas where they were a common occurrence!)
Then the little imp continued, "And you smell like a bad piece of cake!"
Before bed that night the little naughty one said to me as I told her I needed to wash up and get ready for bed, "Mommy, is that because you smell like a stinky daisy?"
Ahhhhhh, sweet memories!!
