Breakthrough news about the gray kittie....

Yesterday we took the new sister pair of kittens to the vet for shots and checkup and to schedule their getting fixed. To our surprise the Vet told us that Dane's kittie, a.k.a. "Pearler" (thanks to Big Sis's bossy creative naming) is- in fact - NOT a sister kitty- but is a BROTHER kitty! How perfect for Dane, although we really did NOT want a boy kitty for spraying and stinking reasons. (THAT must be why their litter box is so much more stinky!!) The vet said it's really just chance as to whether the boy kitten will try to spray after getting fixed...so time will tell whether we can keep this little kitten or not. We will NOT play games- if the cat so much as sprays once- he's got to go- and we'll get Dane a new GIRL kitty. We have been permanently traumatized (as anyone who knows our scary move-in stories knows well) by stinky kitties. No more.

And, Dane, now gets to rename his kitten. Which, with Lena's help, happened quickly. His new name is Squirrely. Fantastic. Pearly and Squirrely. OH gosh- not the cutest names but the kids like them. So there ya go.
