12 Days of Christmas Countdown
Day 2 - Christmas Lights and a Chocolate Mommy
I have to start this post by telling about a conversation my children had at breakfast this morning. It must be all the copious amounts of cocoa and sugar that is shaking up their thought processes, but somehow one of them came up with the brilliant idea of a Chocolate Mommy. They of course had to debate the morality of what one would do with a chocolate mommy.
Lena states unabashedly, "Well, I'd just eat her. I'd start with the head."
Dane wails back with despair , "Noooo, we wouldn't eat her!! She's our MOMMY!!" Clearly the chocolate mommy idea brings mixed emotions to all. We still love her, but it's chocolate, we must eat her... Oh no!
It really didn't get much deeper than this, but it did go on for quite a bit longer.
Last night, in another Holiday tradition we started last year, we took a drive out to a huge light display that winds through a state park on a nearby lake. Lots of big bright lights to see, and at the Marina Gift shop they had Santa, more hot Chocolate, and cookies. We didn't go see Santa, however, as when we got there they had just called number 39, and some other impatient parent gave us her number, which was 66. We considered that for all of 5 seconds, set it down, and told the kids that it wasn't the REAL Santa there that day anyway. Who wants to see a wannabe- right? They were pretty cool with it, and we just headed back to see the lights.
Anyway, it was a fun display, I was totally glad we went.
